The difference between prime and zoom lenses
The Prime Lens:
The prime lens has a fixed focal length and it's commonly called a fixed lens. When you take photos with this type of lens, you have to actually move your body rather than the lens to get closer to the subject. An example of a prime lens is the 50mm. These lenses are much cheaper, and smaller, but have a lot of learning involved. The Zoom Lens: This lens has a variable focal length, which means you can turn the zoom ring and the lens creates a different view. An example would be the 70-200mm. Zoom lenses are very portable and have a lot of flexibility in what it can do! |
